The 4E SSL Annex of the International Energy Agency attend Moscow

June 20, 2012 Moscow were visited by SSL Annex of the 4E International Energy Agency - Professor Mark Fontoynont, operating agent of 4E SSL, knowing in Russia as the vice-president of the CIE and Dr. Peter Bennich, SSL Annex Management Committee Chair.

SSL is one of four Annexes of the "4E" International Energy Agency. The work of the Annex is to build consensus between member governments and to provide guidance to interested stakeholders.

 
The Annex was established in 2009 under the framework of the International Energy Agency’s Efficient Electrical End-Use Implementing Agreement to provide advice to its eight member countries seeking to implement quality assurance programs. This international collaboration brings together the governments of Australia, Denmark, France, Japan, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK and the USA.
 
Ensuring the quality of lighting, harmonized testing LED products through international testing centers, improving the quality and credibility of the products, standardization and accreditation infrastructure, working with existing accreditation bodies and the development of the global structure of the reliability of data testing LED products – all these objectives are considered by SSL, as the main purpose of their activity.
During the visit, representatives of the 4E SSL held a meeting with Georgy Boos, the President of the Holding Company "BL Group", Anna Shakhparunyants, the General Director of "VNISI" and Elena Matveeva, the General Director of "BL Group".
 
The key event of the visit was a meeting with Alexander Novak, the Russian minister of Energy . On that meeting were considered possible scenarios for Russia's participation in the activities of the IEA 4E SSL Annex.
 
Professor Mark Fontoynont and Doctor Peter Bennich also visited VNISI and met with leading specialists of the Institute, who introduced them the equipment and working methods of VNISI testing center.
